Step 1: Open the TikTok App
The first step is to launch the TikTok app on your mobile device. Ensure you are logged in with your account.
Step 2: Visit the User’s Profile
There are two ways to access the profile of the person you want to block:
• From the Search Bar: Tap the search icon (magnifying glass) on the bottom of the screen. Type the username of the person you want to block and open their profile.
• From Comments or Messages: If the person has commented on one of your videos or sent you a direct message, tap their username or profile picture to navigate to their profile.
Step 3: Open the Profile Menu
Once you are on their profile page, look for the three dots (or three lines) in the top-right corner. This is the menu icon that will open additional options.
Step 4: Select “Block”
After tapping the menu icon, a list of options will appear. Scroll through the options and select “Block.” TikTok will ask you to confirm that you want to block this user.
Step 5: Confirm the Block
A confirmation screen will pop up, asking if you’re sure you want to block the user. If you’re certain, click “Confirm.” The user will now be blocked.
What Happens After You Block Someone?
• They Can’t View Your Content: The blocked user will no longer be able to see your videos, profile, or interact with you in any way.
• No Notifications Sent: TikTok does not notify users when they have been blocked, so they won’t be directly informed.
• Muting Comments and Messages: Blocking automatically prevents the person from commenting on your videos or sending direct messages.
If you change your mind later and decide to unblock the user, here’s how you can do it:
1. Go to your profile and tap the three dots at the top-right corner to open Settings.
2. Scroll down to Privacy and tap Blocked accounts under the “Safety” section.
3. You will see a list of people you’ve blocked. Tap Unblock next to the user’s name to reverse the block.
